Ken Hirai – Canvas – Hachikuro ED

The ending theme to the new dorama Hachimitsu to Clover (Honey and Clover) is Canvas by Ken Hirai. Honey and Clover is by far my favorite anime and I have extremely high hopes for this series. I like this song and think it fits with the feeling of the series and I hope they use music as effectively throughout the dorama as in the anime.

After reading a little information about the first episode I browsed through the raw and I’m pretty excited about this series. I watched the live action movie and was quite disappointed with both the way the story flowed as well as the casting. The casting for the dorama is far better with one exception. Narimiya Hiroki as Morita seemed okay at first, but just couldn’t pull it off in practice. I don’t think a character like Morita can be recreated in a live action show but I’m hoping he gets better.

As for the story itself, it’s already clear that it’s not going to follow the anime. Actually, I’m not sure if I mind. While the anime was fantastic, I’d rather have something new to look forward to.

I’m not sure if anyone’s slated to pickup the subs on this but I’ll be looking forward to the first episode. I haven’t quite decided if I’m going to blog each episodes or just the full series. This is all new to me so I’ll work it out as I go along.
